My Little Lovebird

A couple weeks ago my sister brought me over a box of oil pastels. I hadn’t used oil pastels since I was a little girl, about ten or eleven. At first I was a bit nervous with them, but I found them so much fun to work with. I quickly drew up this little lovebird in ink, and colored it with the oil pastels. The colors ended up looking more like a parrot though…I clearly need more practice, but I sure had fun with them!

B is for….

This is the page from my naughty ABC book that I finished a few days ago. I will probably re-illustrate it fifteen times before it is done, but here is what B looks like at this point!

ABCs for Little Girls

Last semester I took a drawing class at school. As our final project in class we had several options. The one I chose to do was to write and illustrate a book that parents would not approve of.

I decided to write an ABC book. I spent a really long time on it, but I could only illustrate it so well, since we only had a few short weeks to turn it in. The story turned out so well. Everyone I show it to laughs their pants off and wants a copy.

Since the semester ended I have been wanting to redraw many of the illustrations that I rushed through first time around. This morning I sat down and started on the first one. It is going to take me a while to complete this, but I really hope to get it published when I am done.
